Events Saturday, January 21, 2017: Annual Meeting and Winter Program

Thanks to all who came out for

the League's 2017 Annual Meeting and Winter Program

held on Saturday, January 21, 2017

at the DoubleTree Hotel on Williston Road in South Burlington

Speakers and presenttions for the day were excellent!

John and Jennifer Churchman, on the success of their children's book series, Sweet Pea & Friends, in a romp through the world of traditional and alternative publishing.

Bud Edgerton and his son on Bud's book on Normal Rockwell in Vermont, and their experiences as Rockwell neighbors, friends, and frequent models for iconic paintings.

The Young Writers Project founder and director Geoffrey Gevalt on his organization, also reading some of the kids' work, and conducting a short writing exercise.

During the course of the day, we elected a new Board of Directors and an Executive Committee, and saw our new, massively improved WEB SITE demonstrated.

Thanks everyone, and see you all in April!

THE VERMONT TRADITION grapples energetically with the basic problem of human conduct...how to reconcile the needs of the group, of which every man or woman is a member,..with the craving for individual freedom to be what he really is.

—Dorothy Canfield Fisher, 1953
